Vinyl Sticker Project

I. Which illustrator tools were essential for this project?Why were they so important?

Essential tools to this project include the pen tool, shape builder tool and text tool. The shape builder is especially essential to ensure that the sticker cuts properly along the paths. The pen tool is used to draw additional graphics and designs that isn't made by the text tool.

II. What did you find most challenging about this project?

In my opinion, the most challenging part of the project was finding fonts that paired well and fit the theme.

III. What is a composition grid?How did you use them for this project?

A composition grid is a blueprint that lays out where elements of the sticker will be placed. The composition grid is helpful because it gives the designer an idea of where the elements will go before they are even drawn, which produces a logical and visually pleasing design.

IV. Do you feel like your sticker meets the “Nature lover” theme?

In order to follow the "Nature Lover" theme, I incorporated mountains on top of the word "FREE" and small trees growing out of the large letters. Additionally I drew and arrow piercing the word "SPIRIT" to further add to the outdoorsy vibe.

V. How did your sticker cut? Did you make any mistakes?What was most challenging about placing the sticker onto a surface?
